I-CHILL SOFTWARE
I-CHILL is a WEB application for the selection of liquid chillers and heat pumps, the main features of the program are summarized below:

All units are also calculated in heat pump by inverting the refrigeration circuit.

Compressors​
​

The calculation of the compressors is done using the manufacturer's polynomials, for subcooling and/or superheating different from the polynomial reference, corrections will be calculated based on the properties of the refrigerants.

The software checks whether the operating point falls within the compressor envelope.

Using the compressor envelope the I-CHILL evaluates the minimum condensing temperature to regulate the flow rate of the fans.

Simulation of part load operation with ON/OFF and/or variable speed compressors.

Water exchangers
​

Water exchangers are calculated using sampling data from the manufacturers' software
​

Finned pack exchangers
​

Finned pack exchangers are calculated using our dll;

Condensers are rated in conjunction with fans;

Free cooling coils can be combined with a specific fan or condenser coils;

The air flow rates are evaluated according to the regulation of the fans Fans;

AC fans with step or phase cut regulation;
-
Variable speed EC fans.

The following refrigerants are available: R407C, R410A, R134a, R513A, R452B, R454B, R1234ze, R290

Calculation options

Selection of the unit based on the cooling or heating capacity (using a tolerance);

Possibility of introducing selection filters such as sound pressure or power, maximum dimensions, minimum EER and/or COP;
-
Calculation of cooling only and heating by reversing the refrigeration cycle;
-
Calculation of water-cooled units combined with an external dry cooler;
-
Simultaneous calculation of cooling only, heating and heating + cooling operation for multifunction units;
-
Possibility to set maximum power or sound pressure;
-
Calculation of free cooling units by evaluating operation in partial mechanical power, fully mechanical and fully free cooling;

Calculation in part load operation and inverter frequency evaluation;

Fan flow rate correction based on the minimum condensing temperature;

Possibility to define fouling factors for the exchangers;

Possibility of using mixtures of water and glycol. Operating conditions fluid type (water or water/glycol mixtures), fluid inlet and outlet temperatures, fouling factor for all water exchangers;

External air temperature for air exchangers;

Part load percentage required (for inverter compressors);

Any selection filters (for example minimum EER, maximum sound level, etc.);

Optional calculation and display requests (e.g. print SEER table)

Definition of parameters for SEER calculation: application and water output (fixed/variable)

Definition of parameters for SCOP calculation: climate zone, water temperatures (low, medium, high), application (fixed or variable temperatures). The bivalent temperature can be set or, if it is not indicated by the user, calculated by the program as the one corresponding to the maximum SCOP value.
Energy analysis

Destination (comfort, technological), location (to extract the corresponding air temperature frequencies), cooling capacity at the design temperature and at the minimum temperature expected in cooling mode. For heat pump operation, the thermal capacity at the winter design condition is required.
Part load calculation:

A sequence of operating conditions is provided with an indication of the part load calculation percentage.

Energy analysis
​

Energy analysis are performed using a BIN database that includes the main European locations.

Consumption are calculated in according to the temperature frequencies corresponding to the chosen location.

The energy calculation is performed considering the possibility of part load operation of the unit in consideration of the operating conditions.
EUROVENT
​

The software can be calibrated to supply same data of the test results at different operating conditions on the same unit.

Eurovent certified units will be highlighted during the print-out phase.

The SEER, SCOP and SEPR calculation will be performed on all units on the requested configuration (thus evaluating the use of inverters and the fan regulation methods).

ERP compliance calculation is available on all units.
Accessories

Possibility to select the accessories available on the chosen unit.

The selection of accessories will be checked in relation to the compatibility and inclusion rules definable on the database.

Evaluation of the pumping units on the user side and source side.

Multibrand Features
​

The software includes multi-brand functionality that allows to use the same software with different logos and company data

Brand management is followed by the administrator who, when assigning credentials, will indicate the brand that will be connected to the new user.
